Virtual Reality in library / Віртуальна Реальність у бібліотеці

Virtual reality is no longer just an offshoot of the gaming entertainment industry, but its potential is moving into the commercial and educational spheres. Libraries are institutions that have long profiled themselves as a major player in informal education. Therefore, the Municipal Library in Prague has taken the theme of VR as its own and we will try not only to make the interesting, almost century-old history of the library building on Mariánské náměstí accessible in VR, but also to look at the library and its services with new eyes.

Municipal Library of Prague (MLP) organises the following activities in VR:

• individual VR lessons
• screening of films in virtual reality
• memory training for seniors in cooperation with the National Institute of Mental Health
• programmes for schools, children's groups, interest groups
• VR events for the general public
• exhibitions in the Artotheque virtual gallery (there is a possibility to realise your exhibition)

Віртуальна реальність перестала бути лише відгалуженням ігрової індустрії розваг, її потенціал переходить у комерційну та освітню сфери. Бібліотеки - це установи, які вже давно зарекомендували себе як головні гравці у сфері неформальної освіти. Тому Муніципальна бібліотека у Празі взяла тему віртуальної реальності як свою власну, і ми спробуємо не лише зробити цікаву, майже столітню історію бібліотечної будівлі на Маріанській площі доступною у віртуальній реальності, але й поглянути на бібліотеку та її послуги новими очима.

Празька муніципальна бібліотека (MLP) організовує такі заходи у VR:

• індивідуальні VR-уроки
• перегляд фільмів у віртуальній реальності
• тренування пам'яті для людей похилого віку у співпраці з Національним інститутом психічного здоров'я
• програми для шкіл, дитячих колективів, груп за інтересами
• VR-заходи для широкого загалу
• виставки у віртуальній галереї «Артотека» (є можливість реалізувати власну виставку)
